How do you pick up furniture bought on Wallapop in Valencia?
The easiest way to collect furniture bought on Wallapop, Milanuncios or Facebook Marketplace in Valencia is to book a van with driver by the hour. In 2026 it costs from €110 as an approximate price (2-hour minimum at 55 €/h), or about €130 with the driver also loading for a sofa, wardrobe or appliance. Measure first and agree time and floor with the seller. More: furniture transport in Valencia.
Below: when your car is enough and when it isn’t, how long each type of item usually takes, what to agree with the seller before the van turns up, and what to send to get a price.
Key facts
- Approximate price: van with driver 55 €/h, 2-hour minimum (from €110); loading by the driver 20 € per hour, each extra mover 20 €/h.
- One item within Valencia usually fits into the 2-hour minimum: loading, a 15–30 minute drive and unloading.
- Several pickups from different sellers can go in one trip: the van carries only your things.
- Paying the seller is between you and them. The crew does not pay, collect money or inspect the purchase for you.
- You pay after the job, in cash or by bank transfer; we confirm the price in the quote before starting.
When is your car enough, and when do you need a van?
If the item is under about 1.5 metres on its longest side and weighs less than 25–30 kg, a car with the seats folded down will probably do. Lamps, chairs, bedside tables, a small flat-packed shelf or a medium mirror usually fit in a hatchback or estate.
You need a van when:
- the piece is long and doesn’t come apart: sofas, large headboards, one-piece dining tables, sideboards;
- it is too heavy for two untrained people: solid wardrobes, antique chests of drawers, washing machines, fridges, marble tables;
- it has to travel upright or well strapped: fridges, glass display cabinets or large mirrors, which in a car end up lying flat or loose;
- you are buying several things at once, say a sofa and a table, or a whole room’s worth of furniture.
Wallapop and similar apps offer shipping for items that fit in a parcel, but bulky furniture is almost always sold for collection in person: the seller expects you to come and get it. If renting and driving a van yourself is what puts you off, compare both options in our guide to van hire with or without a driver.
How much does it cost to collect second-hand furniture in Valencia?
The price is worked out by the hour, not per item: hours × €55 for the van with driver + €20 for each hour the driver loads and unloads + hours × €20 for each additional mover, with a 2-hour minimum. These are approximate figures; we confirm the price in the quote before starting, once we have seen photos, floors and access.
| What you are collecting | Mover needed? | Approximate time | Approximate price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Table, chest of drawers or armchair (you load) | No, you load | 2 h | €110 |
| Three-seater sofa | Yes, 1 mover (the driver) | 2 h | €130 |
| Washing machine or fridge | Yes, 1 mover (the driver) | 2 h | €130 |
| Large wardrobe to dismantle and reassemble | Yes, 1 mover (the driver) | 3 h | €195 |
| Corner sofa, 4th floor without a lift | Yes, 2 movers (one is the driver) | 2 h | €170 |
| Two pickups in different neighbourhoods + delivery | Yes, 1 mover (the driver) | 3 h | €195 |
How to read it: 2 h × €55 = €110; the driver also loading adds 1 h × €20 = €20 (€130); a second mover adds 2 h × €20 = €40 (€170). Three hours with the driver loading: 3 × €55 + 1.5 h × €20 = €195. Floors, dismantling and packing are included in the quote, so the final figure can come out higher or lower. More worked examples in how much it costs to move one piece of furniture.
Do I need a mover, or is the driver enough?
If two people can carry the item comfortably and you will load with the driver, a van with driver is usually enough: a table, a chest of drawers or an armchair. If the driver also loads, add €20 for each hour of loading and unloading.
Add one mover if:
- the item is heavy or bulky: sofa, wardrobe, washing machine, fridge;
- there are stairs without a lift at pickup or delivery, or the item doesn’t fit in the lift;
- you can’t lift, or you won’t be at one of the two addresses.
Two movers make sense for corner sofas, heavy sofa beds, American-style fridges or anything big going up several floors on foot. It looks more expensive, but two people usually finish within the 2-hour minimum and are less likely to scrape walls and banisters. See the service page for loaders in Valencia.
Washing machines and fridges need some prep (draining, locking the drum, letting the fridge stand) explained in how to move a fridge and a washing machine. Ask the seller whether they have already done it.
What should I agree with the seller before the van arrives?
What saves the most time and money is settling everything with the seller in the app chat before you book the van. The checklist:
- Item dimensions: length, height and depth; for sofas, the diagonal too. Get them in writing, not just the listing photo.
- Exact address and floor, whether there is a lift, and the size of the lift door and cabin.
- Whether the item will be dismantled. A wardrobe or large bed is best handed over in pieces, with screws and fittings in a bag taped to one panel.
- A specific time and a phone number for whoever will be at the flat. If the seller doesn’t show up, the van’s hours keep running.
- How you will pay the seller. That is a deal between the two of you: in the app, in cash on collection, or however you agree. The crew has no part in that payment.
- Who brings the item down. Some sellers help get it out of the flat; others leave it at the street door. Knowing this tells you whether you need a mover.
One tip that avoids surprises: don’t finalise the purchase until you have seen the item in person or on a video call, and check the measurements against your own doors. Otherwise the mover discovers the problem on your landing.
Do I have to be there at pickup?
It is best if you, or someone you trust, are there at pickup. The reason is simple: the purchase is yours, and only you can decide whether the item matches the listing, whether a part is missing, or whether you’d rather not take it.
The crew does its part: they wrap the item in blankets, strap it in the van and deliver it to your address. They don’t check the condition or working order of what you buy, don’t negotiate with the seller and don’t pay them on your behalf.
If you can’t make the pickup, say so when you ask for a quote and settle everything with the seller beforehand: payment done as you agreed, item ready, and the seller knows when the van is coming. At delivery it is still worth being there to show where everything goes.
Can I combine several purchases in one trip?
Yes, and it is usually the cheapest way to furnish a flat second-hand. The van carries only your things and can stop at several addresses before reaching yours.
- Group by area. A chest of drawers in Benimaclet, a table in Russafa and chairs in Patraix make a sensible route; a sofa in Sagunt and a table in Gandia, less so.
- Line up the times. Ask each seller for a half-hour slot and pass them to the crew in order.
- Add shop pickups. If you also need something from IKEA Alfafar, it can go in the same booking; see the timing plan in getting IKEA Alfafar furniture home.
Each stop adds roughly 15–30 minutes of loading and driving, depending on the area and parking. Two or three nearby pickups plus one delivery usually fit into 2–3 hours.
What if the seller is outside Valencia city?
That works too. For towns in the metropolitan area, such as Paterna, Torrent, Mislata or Burjassot, the hourly calculation usually still applies because the drive is short. If the seller is in another city in the Valencian Region or another province, transport is priced by distance: approximately 2.65 €/km for the one-way distance, VAT included, with movers’ hours on top.
In those cases it pays even more to check size and condition on a video call before booking: a 100 km trip for an item that didn’t match the photos is money wasted.
What to send to get a price
To get a quote without back-and-forth, send this via WhatsApp or the website form:
- the listing link, or 2–3 photos of the item with its dimensions;
- pickup and delivery addresses, with floor and whether there is a lift at each;
- whether the item will be dismantled and whether you will help load;
- the day and time slot you agreed with the seller;
- any other stops, if you are collecting more things on the same trip.
That’s enough to know whether you need a mover, how many hours to plan and which van fits. If you only need the vehicle and will load yourself, you can also book a van with driver directly.
