Ecoparque Valencia: recycling centre hours, what to bring and the mobile ecoparque

Movers unloading an old mattress and a broken chair from the van next to the recycling containers at a Valencia ecoparque

An ecoparque is what Valencia calls its recycling centre, and the one in the city that takes furniture, mattresses, appliances and rubble is the fixed ecoparque València - Vara de Quart (Camí Alqueria de la Morera, s/n), run by the metropolitan waste authority EMTRE. It opens Monday to Saturday 9:00–21:00 and Sundays and public holidays 9:00–14:00, and it is free for residents of the metropolitan area. For small things (used cooking oil, batteries, aerosols, a toaster) there is the mobile ecoparque, which parks in each barrio roughly once a month, Monday to Friday 9:00–20:00 and Saturdays 9:00–14:00.

If what you need to get rid of is a sofa or a wardrobe and you have no car, you have two options: the City Council’s free bulky-item collection (010) or paid furniture removal in Valencia, where a crew takes it straight out of the flat. Below are the hours, the limits per person, how to find the mobile ecoparque date for your street and when each option makes sense. The information comes from valencia.es and emtre.es (checked in October 2026); hours can change around public holidays, so check before you go.

Fixed or mobile ecoparque: which one you need

Three kinds of ecoparque operate in Valencia and they do not take the same things:

Fixed ecoparque (Vara de Quart, EMTRE)City Council mobile ecoparqueEMTRE mobile ecoparque
WhereCamí Alqueria de la Morera, s/nOne stop per barrio, by calendarOutlying districts and some barrios, by calendar
FurnitureYes, up to 100 kg/day and 200 kg/monthNot on the accepted listSmall furniture only
MattressesYes, 2 a day and 6 a monthNoNo (blankets and duvets yes)
AppliancesYes, 4 a daySmall ones: 1 a day (toaster, iron…)Only items smaller than a microwave
RubbleYes, 300 kg/day and 900 kg/monthNoNo

Rule of thumb: if it fits in a bag, wait for the mobile ecoparque in your barrio; if it needs a car or a van, it goes to a fixed ecoparque.

Ecoparque Valencia opening hours (and the ones nearby)

Within the EMTRE network, Vara de Quart is the fixed ecoparque of the city of Valencia, but there are twenty across the metropolitan area. If you live in the north or south of the city, one in a neighbouring town may be closer.

There is no mobile ecoparque on public holidays: in the 2026 calendar, for example, 9 and 12 October show no service. Fixed ecoparques can also close for local holidays; EMTRE posts these notices on its website and answers on 963 53 37 90.

What you can take to the ecoparque, and how much

Ecoparques are for household waste. According to EMTRE, its fixed and mobile ecoparques are open to anyone living in any of the 45 municipalities of the metropolitan area. Small shops or offices may be accepted if their waste is similar to household waste; industrial waste is not.

Limits per person at the EMTRE fixed ecoparques:

The City Council’s mobile ecoparque has lower limits, designed for what you carry on foot: 5 litres of cooking oil, 5 aerosols, 10 batteries, 3 fluorescent tubes and 1 small appliance a day. It does not take organic waste, medicines or fibre cement (fibrocemento) or fibreglass.

One detail if you are driving a van with renovation waste: at Vara de Quart, vans with a payload over 1,000 kg loaded with rubble are not allowed in. They have to use another ecoparque in the metropolitan area.

Mobile ecoparque: how to find when it comes to your barrio

  1. Open the official calendar. On valencia.es search for «Ecoparques móviles Ayuntamiento de València y EMTRE. Calendario 2026». It has the unified annual calendar (PDF) and a map of every stop.
  2. Find your barrio in the list of stops. Each barrio has a fixed spot: in Russafa, Plaza Doctor Landete, 4; in Benimaclet, Plaza de Benimaclet, 7; in El Carme, Plaza Músic López Chavarri. Some large barrios have two stops.
  3. Check the date. The unit stays all day and comes back roughly every four weeks. Put it in your calendar: if you miss it, the next one is a month away.
  4. Sort and seal. Oil in a closed plastic bottle, batteries in a bag, aerosols separately, and within the daily limits.
  5. Big items go to a fixed ecoparque. A mattress, a door or a washing machine will not be taken by the City Council mobile unit.

Free bulky-item collection from the City Council

If you cannot take furniture to the ecoparque yourself, Valencia City Council collects it from your street for free. The procedure published on valencia.es:

  • Book a collection on 010 or 963 100 010 (working days Monday to Friday 8:30–18:30, Saturdays 9:00–14:00 except August), through the City Council app or the web form. It helps to know the Spanish term for what you are booking: recogida de muebles y enseres (collection of furniture and household items).
  • Give your address and the number of items. You get a day, a time and a reference number.
  • Put the items on the pavement next to your front door on that day and time, without blocking the way, and write the reference number on them.
  • Never leave them by the bins. The City Council fines people for dumping furniture on the street; the amount depends on the offence.

The service is free and works. The catch is that you have to get the sofa down to the street, and from a fourth floor with no lift that is not a job for everyone.

When the ecoparque is not worth it

In practice, the ecoparque gets complicated in a few typical situations:

  • No car or van, or the items do not fit in the boot.
  • Lots of things at once. When you clear a whole flat, the daily limits run out fast and you end up making trips for weeks.
  • Upper floors and heavy furniture. Getting a wardrobe or a sofa bed down a narrow staircase is a job for two experienced people.
  • A handover date. The landlord wants the keys on Friday and neither the council slot nor the mobile ecoparque fits.
  • Renovation waste. Bags of rubble, sanitary ware and tiles weigh far more than they look; that is what rubble removal is for.

If any of these sounds familiar, first compare the options in furniture collection in Valencia: free or paid. If you need to empty the whole place, the guide to house clearance costs and how it works explains how the hours add up.

How much it costs to have it taken away

Paid removal is charged by the hour, at the same reference rates as a move:

ItemGuide rate
Van with driver€55/h, two-hour minimum (from €110)
Mover€20/h per person
Carrying down the stairs, with or without a liftper quote (we include it in the quote)

For example, taking out a sofa and two pieces of furniture with a van whose driver also loads is usually done in about 2 hours: €110 for the van plus 1 hour of loading at €20, around €130. we confirm the price from your photos before starting and takes the items where they belong.

If you live outside the city

Towns in the metropolitan area have their own fixed ecoparque: Paterna at Carrer de l’Algepser, 97; Torrent has two (Torrent I on Calle Sant Joan Baptista and Torrent II in the Toll l’Alberca industrial estate). If you are moving to one of them, use the move: anything you do not want in the new home can go to collection on the same trip. For removals in Paterna and the rest of the metropolitan area the same hourly rates apply as in Valencia.
